The very first time I saw you...
I loved you on the spot...
And knew my life would never be the same...
Although you didn't talk to me...
Or even say my name...
And yet between we two there was a bond so strong and sweet...
I held your hands in my hands...
I worshipped at your feet.
I knew you couldn't stay too long...
Time was going swiftly by...
And soon you'd have to leave me...
The "apple of my eye"
So I thanked the Lord in heaven...
For bringing you to me...
Then time was up...they took you back...
Back to the nursery!
